Biden Holds First Full Press Conference Since Debate
There’s been a cry amongst some democrats for Biden to step aside and not run. It’s a bit late for this!
It’s been two weeks since the debate where, in my point of view, neither candidate showed us anything. Now, the past two weeks has been full of 9 Democrats on Capitol Hill telling the president he needs to drop out of the race. He’s not fit. They have concerns about his ability to defeat Trump.
At the beginning of this news conference, Biden was asked about Vice President Harris and if he felt she was qualified to take the helm. In his reply he misspoke her name as “Vice President Trump”. As far as I could tell, since this was a ‘test’ of his ‘cognitive ability’ with this news conference, I believe that was the only time he botched up names. I will say one thing here. President Biden has always had issues either way leading up names, throughout his entire political career. So this is nothing new.
What he did do with this news conference was answer all questions ask of him, no matter what. He answered with force, strong ability, and demonstrated his knowledge and experience in foreign policy and affairs. Biden articulated his responses in clear, concise, language. Easy to understand, and often delved into the answer provided probably more than some of his advisers wished. Giving more detail than was necessary, or maybe what they wanted to let be known. I understand why he answered the way he answered these questions. This wasn’t about foreign policy or affairs. This news conference was a test if he could give unscripted responses to grilling questions from the toughest audience around, the White House press corps.
There wasn’t stammering, suffering, or anything else that he did in the debate. But he also wasn’t having to try to do a ‘fact check response’ to a lying narcissistic sexual deviant sociopath who has been adjudicated by a court of law as a rapist and been found guilty of 34 felony counts of fraud. He also wasn’t trying to defend numerous counts of violating the Espionage Act, treason, and all the other charges still facing Trump.
I want to add one more thing here. As you all know, I was a cop and firefighter for about 27 years. I have always had issues either names. I screwed up in a witness stand more than once with names during testimony in criminal cases of my own. So, I know what it feels like and how it is. Now, about 30 years after I was forced to retire medically, I still have issue with names and remembering them. Do, in my opinion, we need to move on from this ‘debate’ about Biden being capable to hold the office. This discussion and harping about his debate performance has lasted 2 weeks. That’s two weeks too long! He has admitted his errors of it, and discussed it at length, several times. All the while, he has continued his governing duties for the country.
If anything needs to be discussed about qualified candidates further the office of President, we need to bring Trump to light with his antics, lying, criminality, and the fact that just tonight he catered a huge party at Mar-a-Lago for Viktor Orbán, Prime Minister of Hungry. Whom has just met with Vladimir Putin before coming to meet with Trump.

It was an honour to visit President @realDonaldTrump at Mar-a-Lago today. We discussed ways to make #peace. The good news of the day: he’s going to solve it!”

I have no clue what Trump is posting. I have been banned for life from ‘truth social’, which I’ll say, truly hurt my feelings! (If you believe that, let me know. I have prime mountain land in the Everglades I’ll sell you!)
One thing is for certain. We need to make damn sure that Trump does NOT get back in the Oval Office. We need to make damn sure that none of his candidates he’s endorsing are elected into any political position whether it’s local, state, or federal. We need to get just in the phones and start calling these Democratic Congress people who are falling for Biden to step aside and voice our opinion on that. They are listening to these polls, which frankly, don’t mean a damn thing.

I’m voting 🗳️ BLUE💙💙💙💙up and down the ballot. I’m trying to get everything single Republican replaced in Congress and all other political positions up and down the ballot. If we intend to save our Democracy and our Constitution, this has got to be done. The old Republican Party of years ago is gone. It’s dead. All that’s left now is a cult that wants Trump in as their ‘dictator’. If he robs, this is the last free election this nation will ever see. There will be no more Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, freedom to choose your doctors, or freedom to do anything else. There will be no Bill of Rights, or laws.
People better wake up and think about this!

As for the in-party critics there have been a couple of recognizable names. The majority of well known Dems are mostly wishy-washy about the midrace replacement but from what I have seen from the demanding few of the 200+ House of Reps Dens I have thought “Who dat Democrat?”
The biggest problem is that many groups will have in fighting but if under siege from outside then they go full tribal in closed circle facing outward. Dems seem to continue shooting in every direction including at their own.
If Joe stands down voluntarily in a transparent way then I will back his replacement. If the powerbrokers and the meek and fearful of losing their jobs play underhanded games and force him out then I will throw the vote to Stein. Let them know that I showed up but no matter how severe the threat from the RWNJs I am not going to reward another form of disloyalty and corruption.
As for Joe’s “cognitive problems” and questionable memory on one night the fault lies with his staff and his campaign team. They are supposed to be planning, anticipating, preventing, defending and honestly explaining. The only truthful thing that the Fat Orange Clown said at the debate was that Joe never fires anyone. He keeps a close circle who have become another group who do not want to lose their jobs and probably believe they are The President. Those geniuses set him up to fail by not including eight hours of Executive Time like the FOCer had every day.
BTW, my spouse and I took a few overseas trips in our 50’s, 60’s and early 70’s. The longer the trip time and the more time zones crossed then the more recovery time need. Of course we were not constantly reading briefings, taking calls, and having high level meetings while trying to remember names, faces, places and key discussions.
A couple of Joe’s supporters get it. The FOCer is being given a free ride because they no longer see his continual lies, rants, whines for retribution and clearly expressed intent to undermine our Democracy (including removal of the Department of Education and severe cuts to Medicare) as newsworthy. Perhaps they think they will survive if he does get back into power as the money-power right’s puppet.
So in closing F The NY Times, the disloyal Dems and “influencer celebrities”, the liberal big donors withholding support, the ethnic groups who will “sit this one out” because they believe Joe did not do enough (good luck with the alternative), and the talking heads on CNN and MSNBC who came on air one minute after the news conference and claimed that it was “proof he has to step down”.

We need to firmly and vocally fight for President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris to continue. President Biden is exactly who we needed for this term and who we need to lead our country forward with his wisdom, kind demeanor and experience. To ask his to step down is heartless and damaging
