Debate Reaction
One of the contestants actually answered every question. One dodged every question. Any guesses as which was which?
I’ve never seen a debate handled like this, but it was enlightening, to say the least.
To begin with, I am a bit upset at the time restraints on answering the questions. 2 minutes doesn’t seem to give time to make points on the question asked. Especially when you are answering about the border crisis, economy, education, child care, medical costs, and the like.
Evaluating President Biden with his responses to all the questions. I think he did quite well stating what he’s done on each item after he took office, especially making the point of what he inherited from his predecessor, who happens to be the person on the left side of the stage, Donald J. Trump.
President Biden, at the beginning of this debate seemed to be concerned about some of the issues, but giving good, solid, responses which made sense, if one listened to what he was saying. As I mentioned before, President Biden answered each question he was asked, with a good, logical, response. Making sense either complete sentences.
Donald Trump on the other hand, started the night seemingly solid, answering the questions. But, when the question came up about the border crises, Trump seemed to begin to lose his composure, his train of thought, and his coherence. After the question if the border crisis, Trump was stuck on that the rest of the debate. Every question he was ask he kept referring back to the border crises, and constantly bashed Biden about the border, and the lies which he (Trump) was saying was ridiculous. Trump continued to bring up the people crossing the border were criminals, coming from prisons, mental institutions, and were causing extensive crime in this country.
Trump did not answer the questions about what he would do about the cost of child care. Didn’t touch on it at all through his 2 minute response, or his 1 minute rebuttal. His reply was repeating everything he was continually saying about the southern border. Same thing with the question about accepting the election results, or the opioid crisis.
President Biden seemed to get stronger as the debate progressed. Biden answered every question with what he had done since taking office as the President and what he hoped to do in his next term. Biden revealed his plan for his next 4 years with his responses. On the same responses, his rebuttal to Trump was consumed with the news Trump made with the trade, removing us from NATO, and other allied partnerships this country was in. The tariffs Trump instilled raising the cost of imported goods substantially, which this country is still under until 2025.
Daniel, That is fantastic news. Trump never has substance. My morning news has only talked about “Democrats panicking over Biden’s performance. Nothing about trump’s non-performance.
We need to show people lists of things Biden has done. Right wing news will not.
In terms of energy level, Biden disappointed. I was hoping for the kind of presentation he made at The State of the Union address. Luckily, there’s plenty of time to deal with the “acting” and energy aspects of the next debate. There’s no question that Biden was not hitting on all cylinders on this evening.
Trump’s capacity for lies continues to astonish.
