As we listen/watch all of the ads on television of all the candidates, one can’t help but think. “When will it all end?” Well, hopefully, November 8th. But, predictions have it that Georgia will be a runoff for the senate seat, so that means we have another month to listen to Hershel Walkers lies.
It truly surprises me how gullible people really are. Here we have an ex college football star that didn’t graduate college, beats women, gets them pregnant outside of his marriage, and pays for their abortions. And, people love him because he was hand picked by Trump, endorsed by Trump, and if the truth be told, Trump tells him exactly what to say. I mustn’t forget his violating the law by claiming he’s a law enforcement officer, on National television! That was just about the smartest thing I guess he’s done. But it seems no one will do anything about it, because he’s Trump’s pick. His prodigal son.
During the debate, Walker made a fool of himself. Never gave a straight answer about any issues, but here again, we are talking about an uneducated person that most likely has no idea what the real issues are, or what he’s going to do IF he’s elected to the Senate!
Seems there’s a lot of that going around the country this election. Case in point: Arizona. You have a woman running for Governor that all she can talk about is the conspiracy theory, and how the previous election was rigged, and Trump should still be president. Same thing is the case in Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and a host of other states.
Now, let’s turn out attention to the good state of Pennsylvania. Fetterman vs Oz.
Looking at Fetterman:
An obvious reason I tuned in to Tuesday’s debate was the question of how Fetterman would do. His campaign sought to significantly lower expectations in advance, taking a page out of Herschel Walker’s playbook, recognizing that he could be in for a rough night.
It was a rough night for the candidate.
Fetterman quickly sought to address the “elephant in the room,” acknowledging with his opening statement that he would misspeak, stumble , miss some words, and later pointing to his reliance on captioning.
“I had a stroke,” Fetterman said, before referring to Oz: “He’s never let me forget that.”
Fetterman pointed out that while Oz’s campaign has pointed to his health in the past, the GOP nominee clearly wagered that he didn’t need to focus on that. The viewers and his allies would do so without him highlighting the issue. About the closest Oz came to referencing Fetterman’s health was when he said, “Obviously, I wasn’t clear enough for you to understand this,” and repeated one of his answers.
Fetterman did make his best attempt to answer on the issues when ask a question by the moderator. Although stumbling through some of them, he stuck to the issues and replied to the questions asked of him.
On the question of releasing his full medical records, he was given two chances to commit to releasing his full medical records, and he replied both times, stating that his presence and his doctors’ say-so should be good enough for voters.
“ … If my doctor believes I am fit to serve, that’s what I believe is appropriate,” he said.
Now, let’s check out Oz’s performance:
On the abortion issue, like other Republicans in key races, he distanced himself from Sen. Lindsey O. Graham’s (R-S.C.) proposed 15-week abortion ban, saying he would oppose anything that prevents states from deciding the issue.
But , at one point, he clearly stated his views in a way Democrats have jumped on to highlight: While talking about who he thinks should decide the issue, he lumped in “local political leaders” along with women and doctors.
“I want women, doctors, local political leaders letting the democracy that’s always allowed our nation to thrive to put the best ideas forward so states can decide for themselves,” Oz said.
This is the logical extension of Republicans’ position on the issue, but Oz wedged politicians into the Democrats’ talking point about how abortion is a choice for women and their doctors.
Did I mention this man is a doctor, supposedly. Oh, sorry, I must have forgotten that point.
Here we gave a doctor saying that he wants the woman, her doctor, AND the local politicians decide what’s best for her. Seriously???
Oz was also asked about whether he would back Trump, whose endorsement proved huge in his winning the primary. Oz initially stammered, saying, “I will support whoever the Republican Party puts up.” When pressed, he was more specific. He would back his benefactor. “I would support Donald Trump if he decided to run for president,” Oz said.
Oz is another prodigal son of Trump. He will say, and do, exactly as he’s told IF he’s elected to the Senate.
The story is the same in all the other states. Rubio in Florida. He’s a waste. DeSantis in Florida. Another waste. Both are so far up Trumps butt it isn’t funny. In his debate with Crist, DeSantis avoided the issues. And when pressed by Crist about serving the full 4 year term if elected, his reply was insulting Crist commenting:
“I know that Charlie's interested in talking about 2024, in Joe Biden," DeSantis said. "But I just want to make things very, very clear. The only worn out old donkey I'm looking to put out to pasture is Charlie Crist."
DeSantis fluffs off abortion issue
When the moderator asked DeSantis what week abortion access should be cut off in Florida, the governor said he was "proud" of the state's 15-week ban that he signed into law earlier this year but didn't say if he would support legislation to further restrict access in the state.
"I just think we're better when everybody counts," DeSantis said. "I understand not everyone's going to be born in perfect circumstances, but I would like to see everybody have a shot."
Crist criticized the response for not answering the question and said the state's new 15-week ban was "callous" and barbaric." The law includes exemptions for a fatal fetal abnormality if two physicians confirm the diagnosis in writing or when a pregnancy is a "serious risk" to the mother. It does not allow exemptions for rape, incest or human trafficking.
"We just found out recently about a case of a middle school girl near Jacksonville, who was a victim of incest, became impregnated because of the bill you signed, governor," Crist said. "She had to go two to three states in order to take care of this issue."
Now, let us look at some other issues. We all are aware of the inflation, gas prices, and crime. These are all very important issues to us. They affect our daily lives, every day.
But, let’s dissect these issues a minute.
Inflation:
I’m sick of inflation being Biden’s fault. He hasn’t gone to war with Ukraine, cut the supply line for the world’s wheat supply, or told the Saudi’s to cut their oil production. As a matter of fact, IF you have been paying attention, we are doing everything we can to bring this war between Putin and Ukraine to an end. It’s senseless to begin with. And, Biden had pulled oil from the reserves to attempt to bring the oil prices then in the country to lower gas prices.
As for the food prices. Let’s think back to the previous administration. In case you have forgotten, Trump pulled our country from the trade agreement with the rest of the world. We had ships lauded with cattle, livestock, food, produce, all sitting offshore here, as well as overseas, that couldn’t be offloaded because it wasn’t allowed to be. Trump had locked down all trade.
Well, folks, all that good, on both sides of the Atlantic, and Pacific oceans was dumped into the oceans because it sat in the ships so long it rotted. Same thing with the animals. When they died from lack of food, they were dumped into the ocean. This was billions of dollars of food, both being shipped into this country as well as being shipped out if this country.
Who do you think has to pay for those losses? It dang sure isn’t the government.
Crime:
This isn’t anything new. Problem is that it’s constantly getting worse. We have had over 40 mass shootings this year. All of which have involved weapons of mass destruction.
Truth be told, Biden has tried to get decent gun legislation passed since he’s been in office. But, with lobbying groups such as the NRA, which has donated millions to Republican and Democratic campaigns for the Senate, it’s impossible to get good strong gun legislation passed. L
And, crime has been a problem ever since I was a child. That’s been a very long time! It’s not something that just started under the Biden administration.
Gas prices:
Folks, our fuel prices are controlled by OPEC. Which is controlled by Saudi Arabia. Biden had been negotiating with them trying to undo dust Trump had done. But, it has to run its course. As long as they cut oil production, the WORLD, is going to suffer. WHY? Because we are still depending on oil!!! We depend on Saudi Arabia for oil to make gasoline snd diesel. This country produces oil but apparently not enough.
In comes Biden’s fight to get us less dependent on fossil fuels. Less dependent on oil for gasoline and diesel fuel.
Now, I remember when I started driving gasoline was just over $0.25 a gallon. And that was for high test gasoline. I griped about the price of gas back then, and I was a teenager. My parents griped about the price of groceries, gasoline, and yes, even the price of the diesel fuel that was delivered to the farm for the tractors. This was in the mid to late 60s. So, it’s no different now than it was then. My mother complained every time she went grocery shopping about the cost of groceries. Again, mid to late 60s.
Abortion issue:
I have saved the best for last. I’m sick of hearing that only the democrats are pushing the Abortion agenda and the republicans are pushing the crime and inflation agenda.
This is everyone’s issue! Everyone’s!
Who abolished Roe vs Wade? The Supreme Court. Who appointed these judges to the Supreme Court, and pushed them all through the Senate? Trump. Thus is Trumps Supreme Court. And, until WE the people do something about it, they will continue to do Trumps bidding for him.
Bottom line. None of these issues the republicans are trying to convince you is Biden’s fault, actually are Trump’s fault, or have been an issue since the beginning of time.
Now, the solution:
What can we do about these issues?
It’s real simple. We need to keep power in the Senate and House of Representatives on the Democratic side. We need to build that total do there’s no 50/50 split. We need to build the Democratic force to 60 so we can get things done that need to be done.
We need Democratic state governors and state legislatures that will work to better their states instead of tear down everything the government is trying to do.
We need to get to the polls and VOTE , VOTE, VOTE!!! If we don’t, it’s nobody’s fault but ours what happens next.
If you think we have high prices now for groceries, fuel, homes, and everything else. If you think the republicans are bing to fix the Abortion issue, or, if you believe that the republicans care about us, you are very sadly mistaken. Prices will soar higher than you’ve ever seen, and there will be a National ban on abortion put into affect.
Women, and children, will die needlessly because if it. You just wait and see.
Last but not least. Democracy as we once knew it will be gone forever.
Think about that!
