“Trumpism” is ALIVE & WELL!
Midterms are over. House has slight majority for Republicans. Senate gains a Democratic seat.
Well, the excitement is finally over. Let’s all face the facts. The Republicans LOST!!! Why? Because they depended on the candidates that were put into place by the ‘former guy’, and the candidates he put into play were about as sorry as you could get.
But, now, the Republicans have just a slight majority in the House, instead of the landslide they expected. And they have to elect a leader. A Speaker of the House. Let us study this just a moment.
It’s common knowledge that Kevin McCarthy is pushing to get elected as Speaker. But, is he truly worthy of that position?
Has he ever came out and said that Trump officially lost the ejection in 2020?
Other than the one time after January 6th attempted coup. The overthrow of our Democracy, he has ran to Trump and kissed up to him every way he could. McCarthy has never, ever, condemned Trump, Trump’s enablers in the House or Senate for their parts in the attempted overthrow of our government and Democracy. As a matter of fact, he is kissing up to the likes of Marjorie Taylor Greene now so he will get her vote. McCarthy is making promises that he will not be able to keep, I’m afraid, because he doesn’t have the majority in the House that will enable him to do that.
McCarthy made it a point shortly after the attempted coup to get to Mar-a-Lago and have his photo op with the ‘former guy’.
I have no true idea who’s wanting to challenge McCarthy for the Speaker of the House position, and honestly, I can’t for the life of me think of one single Republican in the House of Representatives that’s worthy to hold such a position.
Over the past 2 years, how many Republicans in the House of Representatives pushed to get ANYTHING done with any part of President Biden’s agenda? Any part of it. All of them voted against every major Bill that was presented. Every single one of them.
Do “We the People” truly want Representatives that do absolutely nothing to better us?
Do “We the People” truly want and Representatives that argue across the aisle and refuse to work with their Democratic counterparts?
Do “We the People” truly want Representatives that refuse to sanction, or further discipline, those that took part in the attempted coup, or had anything to do with the planning of the attempted overthrow of our Democracy?
I’ll tell you my answer to all these questions. Not no, but “Hell No!”
I have no idea what the next two years will bring. Thank goodness the people in Georgia saw fit to put Senator Warnock back in the Senate giving it a 51-49 edge. And yes, that’s a whole ‘nother story. Because for the life of me I don’t understand 1.7 million people voting for someone the likes of Hershel Walker!
Anyway, folks. Hold on tight because the next two years is going to be a real bumpy ride!
