Voting is Democratic and Essential!
It’s up to us what happens to our Democracy. Not depending on someone else!
When I take a look at what had happened to date in these midterm elections, I often think back to the days when I was a young man, not yet the age to register to vote. I used to sit in my dads office at his farm warehouse where all the farmers collected every week and discussed things. Every two years, it was always politics. And I was amazed at the difference of opinions even among the old farmers sitting there, some were democrats, some republicans. But they sat there and hashed out all the candidates until they all came up with a consensus of who to support in any given election category, and why.
Today, looking at the Republican Party. It’s a joke. It’s a shambles, and it’s priority now is that with the blessings of Trump. Demolishing Democracy as we have known it since longer than I can remember. The Republican Party has become the Party of Trump. It’s just that simple. Take a look at our Congress, both Houses. There’s not one Republican, other than the two currently serving on the January 6 Committee, that have denounced Trump. Not one! Why? Every single one of them, with the exception of Liz Cheney, have bowed and kissed Trump’s backside portal to get his blessing and support for re-election. This is unbelievable, unconscionable, and just plain poor politics.
Have any of the Republicans we have sitting in Congress have a conscious? Any morals at all, any decency, about themselves?
Every single one of them needs to be voted out of office. After the midterms this year, and the election in 2024, there shouldn’t be one single Republican sitting in Congress. Not one! If we, the Democrats, don’t get off of our backsides and vote in these upcoming elections, we will lose our country. Folks, it’s just that damn simple. If we do not vote these republicans out in ‘22 and ‘24, there is no one we can blame but ourselves.
I realize this would be the first time in history that such a feat has happened, and it can happen. But honestly, President Biden has done a fantastic job. He just doesn’t take the time to keep touting his accomplishments, which I admire in him. But with the mentality of a lot of people in this country, they look at him as not accomplishing anything. They better look again.
What’s the bottom line.
GET OUT & VOTE, VOTE, VOTE.
Get your neighbors , family, friends, all to get out and vote. Hold meetings/gatherings in your homes of your democratic friends and support your local/national candidates. It doesn’t have to financial support. Voice support goes a long way for these candidates. Last but not least, denounce the false ads you hear from the Republican candidates against our Democratic candidates publicly. Your voice on social media will go a long way. And, finally, on Election Day, if someone needs a ride to the polls, take them.
