Plus, you have Marjorie Taylor Greene doing her usual “let’s waste some time” resolutions she keeps presenting to prevent a vote on any budget items that need to be dealt with.
Wonderful educational essay. Unfortunately, as per usual here, it’s one-sided in its thinking that the danger is only with the orange man. Totalitarianism is already in practice across our government agencies and bureaucracy. Last time I checked, POTUS has little or nothing to do with it. Unchecked government size and power is to blame, irrespective of the administration in power. Trump was ineffective in dismantling the deep state, it is with us forever until we crumble as a a nation, and no amount of fear and blame toward Trump will change that.

What I was trying to reveal is the ‘rhetoric’ that DJT is spewing at his ‘campaign rallies’, where he lies about everything except what he’s going to do when he goes back in the White House. The lies he keep in with about the 2020 election, how every election is rigged, and how he’s going to do away with every government department there is, and make every department led by his sworn followers, and have everything in the country answer to him. How he’s going to do away with law enforcement and have the military do the law enforcement. How he’s going to eliminate everyone that doesn’t do as he wishes, his ‘enemies’. He’s going to eliminate all the ‘vermin’.
The stuff he’s saying to his gatherings is the exact stuff that Stalin, Hitler, and the like said. It’s like he’s taking this out of their playbook.
Problem is, people supporting this mess are a) ready, willing, and able to accept Big Daddy government so long as it punishes the people they do not like. They do this not realizing that b) that kind of government will cause them even greater suffering. They look at like, "I am miserable, I want others to be miserable too, especially those OTHERS." What they don't realize is, they ain't seen nothing yet when it comes to misery, and it will harm them in unfathomable ways. Be careful what you wish for.

I’m going out on a proverbial limb here. I’m guessing not one of them have ever, ever, lived in a dictatorship, an authoritarian state, or anything close to it.
