Why Close the Borders when We Can Do Better
This nation has always been a nation with open arms to immigrants. Why change now?
A beautiful lady, one of my subscribers, Patricia, wrote a response to my previous post this morning, and it, you might say, “inspired my thought process” to write this. Actually, it was my reply to her I typed out and after rereading it, before I hit “send”, it hit me that I should post it for all to read. To me, THIS IS THAT IMPORTANT AN ISSUE!!!
WE the people of this great nation, cannot, must not, ignore this issue. If we do, we will be sinking further into Trumputins cult-like grip!
Instead of yelling “close the borders”, we should be standing with open arms and inviting these immigrants into our country, as our forefathers did.
A lot of good can come of this. A lot of learning. Yes, we will get bad people in the bunch. There’s bad apples in every bushel. The secret is, after you get that bushel in your home, if you let it sit, the entire bushel eventually will go bad. But, if you go through it immediately and cull out the ‘bad apples’, then the bushel will be great!
This exact aspect works the same with this immigration issue. And, I feel that it can be solved really easily. Instead of spending billions upon billions on a ridiculous wall across the southern border of our country, which will do no good whatsoever even after it’s built, why not send the exact same amount, or maybe even less, building an “Ellis Island” type of immigration intake facility at several locations on the southern border, and different ports around the country. Then allocate the money to man these facilities with good, trained, qualified, border patrol officers, and intake personnel to screen the individuals as they enter the country by foot, boat, plane, train, however.

This, to me, makes a hell of a lot more sense than what this nation has done the last 6 years with its immigration policies, and the treatment of the immigrants that have attempted to enter this country and been treated like shit. Having their children taken away from them, housed in cramped up tents in totally unsanitary situations, being deported because they aren’t “American” and their children left here with total strangers, or living together in camps.
This is the type of stuff the Nazi’s and Communists did back in the World Wars!
For Gods sake, is this country truly turning into a communist nation?
Things need to change, and the only ones that can change it is us. We MUST 💙💙💙💙VOTE BLUE 💙💙💙💙 in EVERY single election between now and 2030, at least! This GQP-Trumputin Party has GOT to be eliminated!!! We cannot stand another administration like the past administration, and we cannot tolerate another leadership of the House of Representatives like this one.
We have got to fix this!!!
As a descendent of an Ellis Island refugee, with you here. With you as a witness to the hard, earnest and even humbling labor of these people who I welcome as neighbors and friends.
I'm with you, Daniel, and I thought we'd do better with a Democratic administration, but I wonder if we weren't just left with too much to do after the last one. Living in NYC, the home of the Statue of Liberty, we were already stretched by homelessness of people living here, and now those people feel crowded out by new homeless people. Too much of the world's population is unhoused, and shutting the borders isn't going to change that. Some parts of the country are desperate for workers, and I hope they come forward to help address this issue.
