How many more must die at the hand of a delusional person that has gotten their hands on a firearm! No student, person, must fear walking out of their home, or classroom.
I'm 70 yrs old and have been working on gun control/gun bans since my teen years. Things have improved, but not enough. I'm not sure what will help, but I'm not going to stop trying. My parents both lived very long lives and I figure I've probably got another 15-25 yrs left in me to keep fighting, so I'm not giving up despite my frustration!
Mary, I just turned 72. I spent over 26 years in law enforcement and firefighting. I was state, and federally certified as a firearms instructor for over 25 years of my career.
May have been lobbying for changes that entire time. Since I was forced to retire and leave that career in 1995, I have been fighting to get changes done. It seems like every one of these politicians have computer generated letters to mail out after you contact them. I have yet to have one to call me, or visit with me, to discuss any of this.

There is also a very very disturbing trend, and that trend is the use of arms to attack places of worship, schools, universities. None are safe nowhere is safe.
This scourge strikes at all social and economic levels, from poor to the wealthy, race is not a factor, it crosses between races, all religions.
You are so correct, Mark. But, they can fix it where an individual can walk into one if these places with a 6 shooter instead of one that shoots 30+ rounds a second with a 2 second reload of a magazine of another 30 rounds.
And trust me. Facing a six round weapon is bad enough!
I feel for America, we here in Canada are not immune from gun violence. On Dec6th. There was a ceremony for the massacre of the young women at the Polyteqnique Engineering students , all fourteen young women murdered. It was Montreal 1989 when this occured
At the top of Mount Royal fourteen beams of light raised into the night sky.
Six muslim men were murdered in Quebec City near my daughters home,
By a brainwashed believer of your former president and also an avid consumer of right wing online content.
Just in closing i want to let you know that you are not alone in this fight

We are becoming desensitized ...I just finished watching Safehouse w/ a fav actor Denzil..it was so plausible both me and hubs near spoke in unison...comes Jim McGovern , D, Massachusetts gave a rousing snapshot of business as usual today amidst the two shootings Tx and Las Vegas - my recall is also shot .. I am sincerely so sorry to whomever wherever , families mourning and the beat goes on....but Republicans issued a censure for so-in-so pulling the fire alarm. And you pay their salaries ....
